Computer viruses spread very quickly and can spread through emails, infected floppies, hacking or when you download anything from the Internet. The fact that your computer can easily contract computer viruses, it has led to a host of antidotes being developed all over the world.
These antidotes can be compared to the vaccinations and antibiotics that we take. A vaccination prevents viruses from entering our bodies while antibiotics fight the infection in case a virus somehow finds entry. The Internet has thousand of viruses floating in cyberspace and virus antidotes are nothing anti-virus programs specially written to catch these viruses. These programs are updated regularly so that newer computer viruses are caught within its web and do not allow the viruses to cause harm to your computer.
In today's technologically advanced and modern world computer viruses and antidotes go hand in hand. If you have a computer, the chances of contracting a computer virus is there and therefore, you should have a proper antidote, in this case an antivirus program, to fight the infection.
